With the festive season just around the corner it isn’t time to be opting for the standard LBDs or pale hues – it’s time to stand out. Enter the latest trend that’s sure to turn a few heads – sparkly dresses!

First up was Kareena Kapoor’s Atsu number that got us wanting more. Then we spotted Esha Gupta’s shiny Vizyon maxi at the Raaz success bash. And J.lo’s Dolce & Gabbana frock got us reaching for those sunglasses. Clearly, sequinned dresses are here to stay.

So how exactly does one pull this off? Here are a few pointers:

• Black shoes are the safest choice for this bold look.
• Keep your hair and make-up minimal. Let the focus remain on your dress.
• Opt for studs or no jewellery, you don’t want to end up looking like a disco ball!
