Sridevi‘s comeback film, English Vinglish, is just around the corner, so on The Front Row this week, Anupama Chopra asked her about how she got into the character of the film – and how much of her family’s influence was behind this. Here’s what Sridevi said.

Anupama Chopra: How did you immerse yourself in this character, Shashi, from English Vinglish?

Sridevi: I don’t know. I feel the character and that minute I feel I’m Shashi, I’m not Sridevi. Sometimes my daughters start saying, “ Mamma I think you are behaving like Shashi today”.

Anupama Chopra: So they were part of the process that they knew what Shashi, your character was like?

Sridevi: Yes absolutely. They read the script.

Anupama Chopra: Did they approve?

Sridevi: From the beginning they have been saying, “Mamma please do one movie. It’s high time.” So one day they read the script and they said, “This is it.”
