Anupama Chopra: Rani, you’ve been always evasive about your relationships. Why is that you don’t talk about your personal life?
Rani Mukerji: Because I feel already people talk so much about your personal life without knowing anything.
Anupama Chopra: Does it bother you?
Rani Mukerji: It doesn’t bug me because I have decided to be an actor and I’ve decided to be in the limelight. It’s a great thing that they do talk about me. I feel important. The day they stop talking about me I’ll be like, ‘OK, they are not talking about me.’ Having said that, as a person I don’t think I’m ready for anyone to scrutinize my relationship or my personal life to the extent that I wouldn’t like it because it’s something very personal. I’m an actor, I’m supposed to talk about my craft, not about what I’m doing at home or doing in my personal life. Where or who I’m dating is not important. What is important is, ‘Did Rani Mukerji do Meenakshi Deshpande’s role well?’
