Rang Nirvana is a Mumbai based theatre group of young theatre enthusiasts who have a passion for the performing arts. This team has been involved in theatre activities for over a decade and have done various shows across India. The name “Rang Nirvana” stands for “achieving salvation through the medium of Theatre & Performing Arts”.

Saiyyan Bhaye Kotwal is a Hindi translation of a famous Marathi folk play Viccha Majhi Puri Kara which was written by Shri Vasant Sabnis Ji and translated by Smt. Usha Banerjee Ji.

This folk drama brings to fore the rampant political injustice through witty repartee and comical situations. It has the format of Maharashtrian Folk form, Tamasha, with live music and Laavni to add up to the flavour of this play. The play had launched the career of famous veteran Marathi actor Dada Kondke.

The group was invited by Film & Television Institute of India, Pune and The Whistling Woods International Institute, Mumbai for a show of this play and received great reviews and recommendations from them. The group has performed 7 shows across different states of India and now performing 3 more shows in Mumbai. The music is the USP of this play and has been composed by Faiz Khan, a National School of Drama graduate. The play has been designed with a mix of Maharashtra’s Folk Tamasha & Lucknow’s folk Nautanki.
