One of our favourite show-stoppers at the Blender’s Pride Fashion Tour 2012 in Mumbai was the absolutely delectable Esha Gupta. Dressed in a dramatic black gown by designer Mandira Wirk, Esha Gupta stole everybody’s heart as she walked down the ramp with her luscious pout.
Mandira’s creations were inspired by the English Bride and was called Veils Unveiled. “This happens when the bride-meets-Ibiza,” says the designer. The collection is about ostentatious femininity that rediscovers the hourglass silhouette and highlights it with strong attitude.
A desire for linearity is seen with clean cuts and discrete hues. Accentuated and padded shoulders, stiff peplums, high waist belts, sparkling bonings, origami effects, laser cutting, sequin work, quilting and 3-D embroidery are the highlights.
While draping plays a vital part in balancing refined elegance, thigh-high splits, cascades, lace insets and over-sized sheer sleeves add to the glamorous femininity.
