On Friday night all roads led to the Satya Paul store at Palladium where they celebrated the news of Masaba Gupta being the new design director. The term fashionably late didn’t apply to this crowd for they waltzed past in at 9 with the party continuing in full swing.
The celeb brigade came bedecked in either Satya Paul or Masaba saris, proving how influential both these designers are! Proud Mom Neena Gupta was seen playing hostess – ushering waiters to serve guests. First up, was Alia Bhatt who was accompanied by mother Soni Razdan wearing a vintage Satya Paul cassette print mini dress which many mistook to be one of Masaba’s designs. She later revealed that the two go back a long way as their moms are BFFS. Designers Narendra Kumar, Nachiket Barve and Neeta Lulla all came in to show their support.
Also spotted were Sarah Jane Dias, Huma Qureshi, Mugdha Godse, Tisca Chopra, Shaheen Abba, Maria Goretti, Anjana Sharma, Anil and Sabina Chopra, Swati Shetty. Photographers Colston Julian and Rohan Shreshta.
The night was a wonderful celebration of the essence of the brand and we can only wait and watch to what Ms. Gupta will bring to the brand. It promises to be a delight!
