Women of today are strong, confident and successful. To celebrate this, Veet India – a name synonymous with depilatories – held a special beauty pageant entitled Veet ‘Be The Diva’. The grand finale was held in Mumbai on Friday and our very own MissMalini was on the esteemed panel of judges. Isn’t that awesome?! (Psst, I’ll let you in on a secret she wasn’t very intimidating!)
Some of the other judges were reigning Miss India Vanya Mishra, photographer Nandini Mehta, stylist Jaffer Ali Munshi. The event kick-started with the casual wear round where the contestants strutted around in shorts, ganjis and flirty mini dresses piled with neon accessories.
After a dance performance, the girls changed into formal wear and then a Q & A round began – where the judges quizzed the contestants on topics ranging from world issues, to life choices. With the average of the girls ranging from 16-18 it’s amazing how much poise and confidence they had. No mean feat!
Finally, Dimple Paul (who is from Mumbai..yay!) was crowned the winner by Vanya and Akhil Chandra (Managing Director Veet), Manmeet Kaur and Natasha Sharma were crowned first runner-up and second runner-up respectively.
