Bollywood characters we'd love to know!
Bollywood characters we’d love to know!

Confession: I get really, really attached to characters. If the character is well-fleshed out, their problems stress me out, their joys make me happy, and their love stories make me want to fall in love (after which I promptly remember my #ForeverAlone state, but I’m just digressing here). And often, I’ve come across a Bollywood character who I just wish could be written into existence, because they’re too amazing to be confined into the realms of one story – I’m sharing with you 5 such characters, be sure to add to the list!

1. The One You Want to Be BFFs With: Rancho; 3 Idiots

He’s smart (you can probably get him to do some of your work). He’s handy to have around (you can call on him to fix things). He’ll do anything for you (it’s always good to have someone to rely on). He permanently has a wisecrack up his sleeve (always good for some entertainment). Plus, he doesn’t mind sticking it to authority every once in a while (sometimes you just want someone to stand up for you). Sounds like a good guy to have around!

2. The One You Want as Your Personal Bodyguard: Crime Master Gogo; Andaaz Apna Apna

Let’s be real, there’s no way Crime Master Gogo is winning any physical fight. But if someone should ever get in your way, he’d be the best one to have around, only because he’d confuse the hell out of everyone. All he needs to do is mouth off “aankhen nikaal kar gotiyan khelunga” or gush about his admirable lineage (Mogambo ka bhatija), and anyone would be left a little bewildered – giving you enough time to get out of the situation!

3. The One You Want to Marry: Karan; Hum Tum

Karan

So I’ll be honest, there are probably a lot more guys who are deserving of the “perfect husband” tag, like Prem from Vivah or Vanraj from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. But perfect can get pretty boring at times and I, for one, want someone who’s a little more two-dimensional than the guy who’s always nice. Which is why Karan seems like a fairly decent choice: he’s got a good heart underneath it all and he’ll always come through when you need him, yet he’ll keep you on your toes with his quips. Witty banter is a big plus, and he seems like one guy who’d always be up for that! (Side note: he also sort of reminds me of Ron Weasley, and really, that’s pretty much the only qualification he needs for making it onto this list.)

4. The One You Want Around For Entertainment: Geet; Jab We Met

If it were possible, I feel like bite-sized bits of Geet should be sold in individual packets for entertainment. As Aditya so aptly said in the film: “Tumhein na, utha kar museum mein rakhna chahiye. Ticket lagni chahiye tumhein dekhne ke liye.” She’s one total original piece and if you’re at a loss of things to do, all you’d ever need to do is have her around. She’ll have something to say about everything!

5. The One You Want To Work For: Kabir; Wake Up Sid

He’s got the nice, quirky office, which would make for a great working atmosphere. He’s a smart guy, which means you’d probably learn a lot. He’s demanding, which ensures that you remain dedicated to your job. But who are we kidding, really? The most important thing is that he’s so hot, he’d make coming to office everyday no problem at all!
