While this season of Lakme Fashion Week saw a myriad of showstoppers including Karishma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Prabhudeva, Bipasha Basu, Chitrangda Singh and even Asha Bhosle (by default); few of them wore outfits that were really worthy of the term.
In my opinion, the one true showstopping outfit this week was the one worn by the sexy Mandira Bedi, at Pallavi Jaipur‘s show. The designer’s collection was inspired by the bazaars of Jaipur, and in a tribute to them she designed a ghagra/installation, festooned with the type kitsch products you would see at a bazaar.
From bangles, to shoes, to toys, to mirrors and clourful pompom tassels, Pallavi expertly crafted them all onto her finale outfit.
We also loved the line of quilted bags, which her models carried down the runway. In fact, we overheard several celebrities placing orders with Pallavi in the VIP lounge after the show!
