It’s a clear indication of Barun Sobti‘s popularity that I, having never seen any of his shows, still know exactly who he is – perhaps because .gifs of Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon were abundant on Tumblr, or maybe because my Twitter timeline tends to get filled with tweets from Sobtians (as his fans are known). In any case, when we saw these shots of him, we knew we had to make him our Hottie of the Week!
Barun is perhaps best known for Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, his STAR Plus serial where he played business tycoon Arnav Singh Raizada. When he left the show last year due to health reasons, it was the first time in Indian television history that a show shut down because the actor quit. Since then, Barun has signed two Bollywood films – Main Aur Mr Right (opposite Shenaz Treasurywala), which he’s already completed shooting for; and 22 Yards, which is in pre-production.
