Rumours have been doing the rounds for a while now that Anushka Sharma has been signed on as the lead for Shuddhi opposite Hrithik Roshan, the upcoming Karan Johar film that is to be directed by Karan Malhotra (of Agneepath 2012 fame). But, we’re told that this is not true at all! Infact…
Anushka’s team tells us that they’re quite surprised this news is being posted as confirmation, since the actress was never even approached for the role in the first place – much less officially signed on! As for the whispers of her doing Tarun Mansukhani‘s next film, they tell us that those are untrue as well. For now, she’s busy with two films: the first is P.K. directed by Rajkumar Hirani and starring Aamir Khan, and the second is Bombay Velvet directed by Anurag Kashyap and starring Ranbir Kapoor. The months of June, July and August will be dedicated to shooting for Bombay Velvet, and so Anushka’s plate is quite full for now.
So as of now, there is no confirmation for who will play the lead in Shuddhi, though there are a few more names doing the rounds – Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone.
