I got a lovely press release today about The newly formed Green People of India. 28 eco, ethical, sustainable, fair trade enterprises from 11 different cities across India have come together to create awareness for climate change, pollution and the need for an organic, ‘green-conscious’ lifestyle AND they’re doing something about it!
Apparently this email revolution happened in the first week of May 2013! It started with 1 email and 25 recipients. In 13 days there were more than 100 green enterprises cc’d and EVERYONE wanted the same thing. More awareness!
Ergo meet the Green People, what’s their goal? Promoting Eco-enterprises and Sustainable Development in India. And they’re all encompassing. There is no hazing process or “club membership” if you’re green you’re clean 🙂
And now even Kalki Koechlin is one of them! A passionate advocate of all things that are reusable, Kalki has joined in and become one of the Green People.
“June 5th is World Environment Day. So we, the Green People wanted to dedicate the month of June to ourselves! Our stories will be shared with the National and also the Regional media over a period of 15 days.”
