Varun Dhawan, ‘The Lost Astronaut’ launched the new indoor roller coaster: Deep Space at Adlabs Imagica.
The roller coaster extends to a height of 56 feet, clocks speeds of 85kms per hour, and is constructed inside a massive, dark dome.
Varun said that he is ‘The Lost Astronaut’ as he was unable to live out his childhood dream of becoming an astronaut and flying into space. His chosen astronaut name is R2D2.
Team MissMalini caught up with Varun Dhawan and asked him about Adlabs Imagica, his upcoming movies, and his ideal girl friend!
How was your experience on the ride Deep Sea?
Scary, but I saw a couple of girls going on before me, alone and then I realized I shouldn’t be so scared, or at least pretend not to be, so I did that.
What are your views about Adlabs Imagica?
I feel very proud of being an Indian and having such infrastructure and such a theme park in India. And Pooja and Aarti, who have launched this park and the owners of this place, I think they have done a tremendous job.
Which is your favourite ride at Adlabs Imagica?
I think before this (Deep Space) it was Rajasaurus, which is a 90 feet drop, then there is Scream Machine, then there is the D3 drop. There are couple of them, can’t pick just one.
What do you love about Adlabs Imagica?
The atmosphere, the walking, the weather because its open you have a lake you have this place called the diner where you can sit down and eat burgers and hot dogs and stuff like that, that kind of food. So its really good, I think you can come with your friends and spend your entire day.
How is ‘Main Tera Hero’ going?
Going really good and I think we have just reordered the first song and hopefully you people will like it and I am really excited about it. Bosco is going to be choreographing it, Bosco-Ceaser, so lets see hopefully it goes well. Its with Ileana, the first song.
Who is that one actress you dream of working with?
I want to work with everyone. To be honest I am a little greedy like that but I think it will be exciting if I work with Tabu, as an actor because in Life of Pie I thought she was brilliant, the way she acted. Everyone talks about the other cast but I think she is an underrated performer, she is not given the credit that she should be. I think she is brilliant.
Which remake of a film would you like to be a part of?
I would love to do the Indian version of The American Psycho.
What do you do when you get a day off?
When I get a day off, I’d probably catch up on movies, sitcoms that I have missed out on. I’d probably go play a game of squash or something. Because it was hot before this, in summers I would swim, so couple of things.
What are the qualities your ideal girl friend should have?
Ideal Girl Friend (blushes) I think (pauses and blushes again), I don’t know if there is such a thing as an ideal girl friend. I think imperfections make a person perfect, so I think you should learn to love the imperfections in the person you love because those in fact become the best qualities.
