This week on The Front Row, Anupama Chopra is in conversation with Shraddha Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. She asked the girls about the rumours of them romancing their co-stars off-screen. Here’s what the had to say.
Anupama Chopra: Both of you have said, “Right now, no time for men.” But in any case to sustain a relationship in show business just seems so hard. Alia, you went to see a movie with Arjun Kapoor and it was front page news. How do you handle it?
Alia Bhatt: I want to know which movie this is! I don’t know what movie they are talking about. This has never happened that he entered first and I entered later. I don’t know whether it was Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’s trial. Everybody was going at the same time. I happen to be there a little late. They (the media) do blow things out of proportion but I don’t think any of that seriously. But it’s not that I won’t go out for a movie with Arjun or I won’t go for a movie with Varun or Sidharth. It’s not that I am going to stop myself just because people are making something out of it. It’s just that I feel at this time when you want to work a lot, giving time to a relationship probably won’t work.
Anupama Chopra: And you Shraddha?
Shraddha Kapoor: Basically my parents explained it to me when some rumour came about me in the papers. My Dad was like “Shraddha will feel bad. We should sit her down and explain it to her that this is the part and parcel of the industry.” I, on the other hand was like “How are my parents going to react to this!” So, we were both actually trying to calm each other down. In that sense, sometimes it can be very entertaining as well to read things.
