Having gained critical acclaim for her Bollywood debut in Vicky Donor, actress Yami Gautam is raring to go with her next film, Aman Kii Asha, which releases in August. She’s also signed a Prabhudeva film.
What’s more, Yami has been appointed the brand ambassador for Rio Tinto Diamonds Nazraana Collection.
In an exclusive interview, she tells us about her choices in jewelry, her favourite designer labels and how she keeps fit. Read on…
What kind of jewelry do you like to wear on an everyday basis? And when you have to be dressed-up for a formal occasion?
I like to keep my look very minimal; I am not into heavy of jewelry. I only wear one piece of jewelry at a time. When I dress-up for a formal occasion, I make sure to never wear a combination of pieces. I believe that jewelry is made to highlight an outfit.
How would you describe her personal style and what kind of silhouettes do you like to wear? Favourite designer labels?
For me style should be effortless. I don’t like putting too much of effort in styling my outfits. I like it to keep it classic and chic. For me style should not be overwhelming and certainly don’t believe in following fashion trends blindly. One has to be comfortable in what they choose to wear and that will reflect in the way you carry yourself.
Personally I prefer casual styles, I like the trend of colored pants, it’s very interesting. My favorite designers are Rocky S, Nikhil Thampi and Namrata Joshipura.
What kind of diet do you follow to keep yourself in shape?
I believe in home cooked food It is always healthier than eating ready-to-eat meals. I always make sure that I eat on time and I ensure the quantity I eat is just enough. I love eating traditional food like chapatti, daal, curd.
What is your fitness regime?
My fitness regime is yoga and weight training with TRX.
What are the film projects you are currently working on?
My next release is Aman Kii Asha opposite Ali Zafar, which is slated for release in August 2013. I have also signed a Prabhudeva film – (untitled project) with Ajay Devgn and will start shooting for the same next month. I’m also working on one more project in the South.
