Aamir Khan initiated a drive recently to collect funds for the flood victims of Uttarakhand, and started things off with his own donation of 25 lakhs. Support from the industry poured in, especially on Hrithik Roshan‘s end, who contributed the same amount and ensured that it was delivered to Aamir himself.
Hrithik Roshan says:
“One must do what one can to help others in need. It must become part of your belief system and must start at home. Also I believe one must talk about his charities. The old belief of ‘self-glorification’ giving and not talking about it does not serve the higher purpose of teaching people to give and propagating the ideal. We must set examples so that others may follow. Among all the negatives in the world, the positives must not go unnoticed. My thanks to Aamir for initiating this effort.”
Hrithik had the cheque delivered right to Aamir’s hands on the sets of Dhoom 3 by his secretary, since he couldn’t personally go in himself, as he had brain surgery scheduled for the next day.
