Amit Aggarwal had his first Lakme Fashion Week showcase, and the occasion also marked the first time he branched out from Morphe, a label he has helmed for quite some time.
As expected, Amit showcased his signature sculptural pieces in a collection centered around three ‘M’s – moulding, metallics and magic. His models walked out with futuristic silver headgear and subtle make-up, which blended seamlessly with the line. And we were a bit surprised to see a multitude of pre-draped saris and lehengas, as Amit has never dipped into Indian-wear before.
It’s not very often you get goosebumps from a show, but when six models walked out in unison wearing the same outfit – a black gown with a metal sculptural hem – it was easy to get lost in the magic. This was definitely a collection for women who aren’t afraid to make a statement!
