A few days ago, we told you that we had spotted model Diandra Soares at event, sporting a bald and beautiful look.
We had a brief chat with her about the reason behind shaving off her locks and here’s what she told us:
“I turned thirty-four years old on the 13th of August and I have always believed in the power of the number 13. This year is 2013 as well. Since I had a bad year last year, I decided to grab this year by it’s horns and make the best of it.
So I celebrated my birthday at the famous Mount Mary Church in Mumbai with family and friends and if you must know, I discovered Mother Mary of the Mount when I was 13 years old. I also discovered Ganesha at that age. And since both feasts come together, it has always been special for me.
So, I had a new haircut for my birthday. But in early September, I couldn’t deal with taking care of my hair. So I shaved it off to rid myself of the attachment to materialism and vanity. I think this time it was a severe spiritual moment.
Even in the past when I had shaved my head, I’ve never done it for fame, attention or glamour. I don’t worry about whether I get work or not. There are always people out there who will give you work. Besides, being a model is not my only job.
This was purely a decision that was spiritually driven and I’m very happy that I did it.”
