Recently, media reports were doing the rounds about how Aamir Khan had said it took 4 years for a film (Chennai Express) to break 3 Idiots‘ box office record. The reports went on to say that the actor claimed Dhoom 3 would create records so great that no one would be able to break it until 2020. However, Aamir has since rubbished those reports, and has issued a statement saying that he’s absolutely not interested in breaking records. Here’s what the actor had to say.

Aamir Khan says:

“I am not interested in breaking records. I am an artist, and what gives me a high is to entertain my audience, to give them a good time, and to satisfy them emotionally. I want to earn the love of my audience that is what I am thirsty for. I like to challenge myself and do work I have not done. I like to surprise my audience. These are the things that I am interested in.”

Fair enough, but what are your thoughts on the matter? Will Dhoom 3 break the record that Chennai Express just set?
