What makes a hairstyle classic?  Well, for one, it must stand through the greatest test of all – TIME.  We all know how important hair is to a woman’s self-esteem. Your hairstyle says a lot about your personality. Don’t you wish you could have a good hair day every day?  It’s always fun to try new hairstyles. So, just for fun, or in prep for the festive season coming up, these are five iconic hairstyles I think every woman should try at least once.

THE RACHEL

Who doesn’t love Rachel? Jennifer Aniston may have come a long way since Friends, but her hairstyle as Rachel Green in the first two years of the series started one of the biggest style trends. Her locks defined the ’90s but that doesn’t make it even a tad bit old-fashioned today. It still looks rather cute and effervescent with an old world charm.

CORNROWS

You can either be considered cool or crazy with this hairstyle but it definitely shows that you’re having fun with your hair. Perfect for long summer vacations, this African style of hair grooming can be left for weeks. Think Alicia Keys and Fergie. Ching ching.

THE HIGH PONYTAIL

There’s something incredibly stunning about this hairstyle. It’s not boring and definitely not just for cheerleaders and school girls. In any event, you will always see at least one star rocking this hairdo. It’s chic and sexy to the max.

THE HIGH CHIGNON

Audrey Hepburn is my official classic style icon. I’m sure many of yours too. Women everywhere, even today, are trying to imitate her famous elegant chignon. It looks so perfect and poised, I can’t even begin to tell you how much I love it. Tiara optional.

THE ‘VERONICA LAKE’ DO

I have a thing for old Hollywood glamour and this vintage hairdo is my absolute favorite from the five. In fact it’s my absolute favorite of ALL hairstyles. I love love love it. It’s classy, sophisticated and even creates a sense of mystery (since the hair covers one eye). Kate Hudson and Jessica Alba have looked stunning in this hair style. Don’t forget to team it up with that bright shade of lipstick.
