Deepika Padukone was recently in Ahmedabad, where she attended a few Navratri festivals as part of the promotional rounds for Ram-Leela. We hear that, although security arrangements were made, one event in particular got exceptionally crazy and it became difficult for the crowd to be managed. So much so, that a young child ended up getting lost and being squashed in a huge stampede. Fortunately, though, Deepika noticed the child while she was being escorted back by her team, and came to the rescue.
Realising that the child was lost, Deepika immediately stepped into the crowd and brought the kid into her “circle” – the area around her that was protected by security and her team, which prevented anyone from getting to her. However, the parents didn’t seem to be in the area and couldn’t immediately be identified, so Deepika had to leave – but only once she had instructed her team to take care of the kid and make sure the parents were found.
Deepika’s spokesperson has confirmed this news to us.
