How cute is Ranbir Kapoor?! He’s doing the Devdas pose with one of the Philips LED diyas, which we totally love. The actor was present at an event today to unveil his new campaign with the brand, where he’s recreating the iconic Saara Zamana song. While there, we got the chance to grab him for a few questions – some of them are from you! – and here’s what he told us. We discussed his association with the brand, the person who lights up his life, and his upcoming Jagga Jasoos with Anurag Basu.

On recreating Amitabh Bachchan’s song: “Amitji‘s outfit in the original song had a lot of lights, so they kind of wanted to have a different take to it. I could only imagine Amitji’s plight while wearing those 100 lightbulbs. These are LED lights so it’s far lighter and simpler. I hope he sees it and is envious of my suit.”
On wearing black: “It’s my favourite colour. Also because I’m carrying some holiday weight, so it makes me look thin. Kidding! I think black is easy, so when you have nothing to wear, just wear black – it’s easy to pass off.”
When asked who brightens his life: “We’re actors, so we actually live under lights. You’re constantly under the spotlight. But what truly brightens my world would probably be my mother.”
On the pressures of being a producing Jagga Jasoos: “The only pressure I feel is from ourselves; Basu and I are coming together to produce something we believe in. We hope we can make an entertaining film that people are happy to see. I start next month, it’s a bit of a tricky character since I pay a school boy in it.”
