Some months ago, reports were doing the rounds that Kareena Kapoor had signed on Rohit Shetty‘s Singham 2 opposite Ajay Devgn. Rohit, apparently, had wanted Kareena for the role and had approached her even while he was still working on Chennai Express. Back then, Bebo agreed to do the film (remember, she’s done the successful Golmaal series with Rohit before), and it seemed like all was set. However, now it seems that the actress will no longer be a part of the project.
It’s all amicable, though – it seems that after reviewing his script, Rohit realised that the role for the female lead wasn’t substantial enough for an A-lister like Kareena to do. His producers have agreed with him, and so the two have mutually decided not to work together on this project. Instead, Mirror reports that the team is looking at bringing a newbie on board from the South. We’ll have to wait and see who they rope in!
