I love, love, love MTV Unplugged, and I’m pretty kicked that their latest episode – which airs Saturday night at 8pm – features Farhan Akhtar‘s band, Farhan Live. Interestingly, this is the first time that Farhan Live is playing an acoustic set, so it should be great to see. To get you excited, the MTV team has released a promo featuring one of the songs he sings on the episode, and of course it’s Pichhle Saat Dino Mein from Rock On!! I love it! Farhan is such a fantastic performer, and it really comes through in this song. I can’t wait to hear the other songs they sing – there’s Tum Ho Toh (which I’m personally really looking forward to), Dil Chahta Hai (since Farhan felt that it would be nice to go down memory lane a bit), and – the kicker – Main Aisa Kyun Hoon from Lakshya. This is the first time they’re performing Main Aisa Kyun Hoon; Farhan says they don’t even do it in their live shows. There will be more from Rock On!! and of course Senorita from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.
This should be a fantastic episode and I’m definitely going to be keeping my eye out for it. I’m most looking forward to Tum Ho Toh since I love that song, but I’m definitely interested in seeing how they perform an acoustic version of Main Aisa Kyun Hoon. From the promo below, it looks like it’s going to be some good fun:
