Last month, Abhishek Bachchan had tweeted saying that he was starting work on a new film. “Today starts yet another journey. First day jitters always get to me. New dawn, new day, new film. Send some love,” the actor had posted on the social networking platform. That film was – at the time – tentatively titled Mere Apne, directed by Umesh Shukla (of OMG Oh My God fame) and starring Asin and Rishi Kapoor alongside Abhishek. Now, we’re told that the Mere Apne title has been done away with, and the team has adopted another name entirely for their film. The project is now titled All Is Well, which you’ll remember is the catchphrase used by Aamir Khan in 3 Idiots.

As you can expect, All Is Well was actually registered by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who produced 3 Idiots. However, VVC very graciously parted with the title when producer Bhushan Kumar (of T-Series) approached him. And it turns out, Vidhu Vinod didn’t ask for very much “payment” in return 🙂

Bhushan Kumar says:

“I told Vidhuji that everyone says it would be impossible to get the title from you .But he was large-hearted enough to give me the title on the condition that I get him his favorite Delhi mitthai. The film is now officially titled All is Well.”

I’m actually fairly surprised that VVC parted with the title; “all is well” became huge and has been used in a few movies already – Anjaana Anjaani and Gori Tere Pyaar Mein, for example, both featured instances where a character chanted the phrase. I expected that they’d want to hold onto the title just in case a great script came along where this name would be apt.

However, Bhushan Kumar and Vidhu Vinod Chopra have shared a long-standing personal equation for quite some time now, which Mr Kumar believes is the reason he decided to give him the title. Here’s hoping they put it to good use!
