With a handful of films to her credit over the past two years, hottie Evelyn Sharma has become a staple on the fashion and Bollywood scene in Mumbai. Her role as the ditzy Lara in Yeh Jaawani Hai Deewani garnered her a huge fan following with millions of males across the country wanting to caress her long and sexy legs, the way Ranbir Kapoor does, in the critically acclaimed film.
On Monday night, Evelyn dazzled in bridal finery on the ramp at India Bridal Week in Mumbai where she was the celebrity show-stopper for designers Falguni and Shane Peacock.
Team MissMalini chatted with her exclusively about marriage, weddings and of course, Bollywood.
Here’s what she tells us…
Team MissMalini: Tell us about this exotic bridal outfit which you’re wearing.
Evelyn Sharma: I’m wearing a design by Falguni and Shane Peacock. It’s a lehenga-choli which is inspired by the Garden of Eden. It’s really pretty and I love all the shiny stones that have been embroidered on to the lehenga. And of course, I love the floral crown on my head. Every girl should be a princess when she gets married.
Team MM: Did you feel scared of falling on the ramp in that outfit?
ES: I’m never scared of falling because, if you fall, you can always get up. Big deal!
Team MM: What do you think of when you’re walking the ramp?
ES: I always look around to see if I know someone in the crowd. It’s nice to see a lot of familiar faces when you’re walking the ramp. And of course, I feel really pretty because every time I walk for a designer, they give me the most gorgeous gown to wear.
Team MM: What kind of wedding do you want for yourself?
ES: Definitely one that is not too long. I don’t want to stand around for seven hours in a heavy dress, like this. So, it depends on who I get married to. I’m definitely going to have a Christian wedding in a Church because I’m Christian. So I will have to wear a white dress and a little tiara on my head. And after that, I would like to have another function by the beach.
Team MM: What would you look for in a prospective groom?
ES: Well, most importantly, he would have to be caring. He has to love me. He would have to have fatherly qualities as well so that he would be a good father to the children. He should be someone who is focused and who sticks to one thing. So, he should be focused on one thing in his career, one thing in his private life…an of course, only one girl. Because I’m like that – I want to be married just once in my life and that’s it!
Team MM: How come you have never been linked to your co-stars?
ES: I don’t know (laughs).
Team MM: Which male star would you love to work with?
ES: I have been working with all the cute ones like Ranbir Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Prateik Babbar. Even Ayushmann Khurrana. He’s cute! Of course, my number one hero is Salman Khan. Since I’m from Germany, you only grow up on Shah Rukh Khan movies. I adore Shah Rukh Khan.
Right now, I’m working on Yaariyan which releases on the 10th of January and there’s also Mein Tera Hero where I’m even working with all the gorgeous girls like Nargis Fakhri and Ileana D’Cruz. So it is a lot of fun.
