For Kapoor fans, last night’s episode of Koffee With Karan would have been quite the treat: it was the first time we were seeing the two first cousins, Ranbir Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor, share screenspace. There’s very little hope of seeing them together on screen, since they can’t really work together opposite each other, unless it’s for some kind of brother-sister role. However, thanks to Karan Johar, we got to see them interact with each other, and it was definitely funny seeing Kareena take Ranbir’s case about Katrina Kaif. In case you missed the show, here’s a quick recap of some of the most interesting things they said!

1. Kareena Kapoor: “I’ve told Saif he can’t kiss on-screen.”

When it comes to intimate scenes, Kareena simply says, “I’m looking at a script as whether I want to do it or not. Even earlier, if I didn’t want to kiss at that particular time, I wouldn’t. If I wanted to, I would.” She says, though, that she hasn’t discussed her kissing scenes with Saif Ali Khan, although she admitted that she’s told him he can’t do any. She doesn’t think he will be comfortable with her kissing another man, but, “You know me – if I want to do something, I will.”

2. Kareena Kapoor: “I completely approve of Katrina.”

While Ranbir won’t say anything about dating Katrina – according to him, the next time he speaks about a relationship will be when he’s engaged – Kareena said that she believes he’s in love and is dating the actress. When asked whether she approves of Katrina, she said she does. Apparently, the two ladies even spent a few hours chatting over coffee in Beirut, where Katrina and Saif were shooting for Phantom. “I really like [Katrina], because she’s really nice. She has a heart, and she comes across as really, really warm. She doesn’t pretend to be somebody she’s not. And I’m really happy for them.”

3. Ranbir Kapoor: “A few things were said that they could have avoided.”

When asked about Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone‘s episode last season, Ranbir said that although they could have avoided saying some of the things they did, he doesn’t hold anything against them. He also said that he wasn’t upset with the episode, but the reactions of everyone around him – the press, his parents – exaggerated it to another level. “They are my good friends. They came to my van after they shot their episode. We’re all friends; peas of the same pod.”

4. Kareena Kapoor: “On Ranbir’s wedding I’ll dance to Sheila Ki Jawaani, Chinki Chameli and all superhit songs of Katrina Kaif.”

It looks like Kareena has grand plans of doing a solo performance to all of Katrina’s greatest hits on Ranbir and Katrina’s sangeet. Ranbir dodged that only by saying that if and when he gets married, he’d love for Kareena to do a performance at his wedding, because who wouldn’t? Kareena also laughingly said that her outfit is ready, to which Ranbir could only reply, “Superb.” As for Saif, Ranbir doesn’t believe he’ll dance even though Kareena says he’ll come in for the male portions. “Saif won’t dance, ya. He’s a Nawab. He won’t dance on my wedding.”

5. Ranbir Kapoor: “It’s part and parcel of the show business.”

When asked about the Ibiza incident, when his and Katrina’s photos were leaked online, Ranbir had this to say: “Everyone is a paparazzi with camera phones. It’s part and parcel of the show business. Somebody will click you and put it on a social networking site, and suddenly someone picks it up, and then it becomes big news. If you’re an actor you have to be ready for all this.”

6. Ranbir Kapoor: “This perception of me being an unfaithful dog has been too stretched.”

It’s true; most people have this image of Ranbir being a player of sorts. Of course, his “low battery” comments on last season’s Koffee With Karan helped create that image, but the actor says this perception has been exaggerated. He has no pressure of being faithful when he gets married: “I think if you’re in a relationship and you’re just a good human being, you will be faithful. That’s what you need to be in a relationship, because you don’t want your partner to be unfaithful. Too much has been said because of my past relationship, but I’d like to believe that I’m a good guy and I’m faithful.”

7. Kareena Kapoor: “[If I were forced to have a gay encounter with someone] I’d be most comfortable with my sister-in-law, Katrina Kaif.”

So completely unnecessary, of course, to add in that sister-in-law bit, but of course Kareena will be Kareena. *lol* Ranbir’s expression was worth seeing after that. How incestuous though, especially since Kareena even said, “Better in the family.” Eeks!

8. Ranbir Kapoor: “Marriage… hopefully soon.”

When asked to react to “marriage” in one word, Ranbir said, “hopefully soon.” Which is not one word, but you know, that’s not really the point. There are a lot of rumours doing the rounds that he is already engaged to Katrina, although those are unconfirmed as of now – and Ranbir did say earlier on in the show that he would speak about a relationship only once he’s engaged. But with all the Sangeet planning Bebo is doing, we have to wonder – is an official announcement of their engagement forthcoming?
