When we first reported back in September that Hrithik Roshan and Sussanne Roshan have decided to end their 12 years plus marriage, we told you that the decision was made mostly by Sussanne. It seems like that is indeed true, and – from what we can tell – Hrithik is not happy about the separation at all. After issuing an official statement confirming that the two are parting ways, Hrithik took to his official Facebook account to speak about how he still loves Sussanne. Here’s what the actor had to say:
This is my greatest tribute to love. Sussanne is and always will be the love of my life for the rest of my life. If her smiles are brighter without me my love for her must accomplish that. Unconditional.
In fact, if you take a look at this statement (“If her smiles are brighter without me, my love for her must accomplish that”) and his earlier one (“Sussanne has decided to separate from me and end our 17-year relationship”) you’ll begin to see a pattern. Both times, Hrithik makes it sound like the call was entirely Sussanne’s.
Currently, Hrithik is out of the country, taking some time off to recover from the brain surgery he had earlier this year. It seems like he timed the official release with his travel plans, so as to avoid questions from the media (which is understandable).
Sussanne, too, has been keeping a low profile for many months now, although she did release a statement of her own:
We are two individuals who respect and care for each other and have made our own individual choices. We are parents to two wonderful kids and our responsibility remains to protect and take care of them. Nothing can change that. Would appreciate if we are given our privacy in such a time. Thank you for your warmth & concern for both of us and the family.
They have always been considered one of the best couples in Bollywood, so it’s sad to hear news of their separation. We still hold out hope for a reconciliation between the two, and hope this is just a temporary separation while they work through whatever issues have been plaguing their marriage as of late. Here’s wishing them strength during this trying time.
