What an interesting pair Madhuri Dixit and Naseeruddin Shah make! These two are starring opposite each other in the upcoming Dedh Ishqiya, the sequel to the 2010 critically acclaimed film, Ishqiya. In the new song promo from the film – Dil Ka Mizaaj – you get to see a bit more of Madhuri and Naseeruddin’s chemistry together. It’s a lovely song composed by Vishal Bhardwaj, sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and penned by Gulzar – an absolutely winning combination, as far as Bollywood music is concerned. I guess this song is supposed to be the equivalent of Ishqiya‘s Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji, which of course climbed the charts when the film first released. I really like this song, too – soothing, soulful and very romantic. Like I mentioned, Vishal Bhardwaj, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Gulzar make a killer combo – they both excel at their individual talents, and whenever they come together, it always makes for some great music (Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji was a combination of those three as well).
The added bonus is that Madhuri looks absolutely stunning in all the promos so far. Like royalty, really, which makes sense since she plays the character of Begum Para. It will, of course, be good to see her back on the big screen as well, but what makes it even better is that she is expected to do a fair amount of dancing in this film – and that is just going to be a treat to see. In fact, Pandit Birju Maharj is said to have choreographed one of Madhuri’s dance sequences.
