While Hrithik Roshan just confirmed his separation from wife Sussanne Roshan a few days ago, there have been signs for a long time now that things may be rocky between the two. We reported back in September that the two were going to be splitting up, and since then there has been a lot of speculation about what really happened between the couple. There have been rumours in the past about Hrithik’s infidelity, which many people believe might have been a deciding factor in the separation. On the other hand, rumours have been floating around about Sussanne’s closeness to Arjun Rampal, leading others to believe that he may have had a part to play in this whole situation.
The actor, however, denies any involvement in their marriage, and released a statement of his own refuting the recent rumours:
It’s very sad when friends close to you take a decision to separate. These are the hardest times for them and we must be sensitive towards this decision, rather than creating speculation and rumours. I read in the news at the same time as you all about my involvement in this marriage. It saddens me deeply that rumours become inevitable when celebrities go through such times. Mehr [Jessia, his wife] and I wish them only peace and love through these times and support them as friends should, and we wish them and their families well always.
Meanwhile, Sussanne’s father, Sanjay Khan, insists that this is “not a closure” and it’s “just that they need space.” Hrithik, too, claims that Sussanne “is and always will be” the love of his life. He called their separation his “greatest tribute of love,” saying that if her smiles are better without him, then his love should accomplish that.
Hrithik is currently out of the country, where he is recuperating from the brain surgery he had earlier this year, before he is expected to resume shooting next year.
