Armaan Kohli behind bars
Armaan Kohli behind bars

We told you earlier that Armaan Kohli had been arrested from the Bigg Boss house, as a result of an FIR filed by Sofia Hayat against him for physical abuse. Around 11pm last night (Monday night, that is), Armaan was taken into custody by the Lonavala police and booked under sections 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 504 (intentional insult to provoke breach of peace) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to outrage the modesty of a woman) 506 (criminal intimidation) and 354 a (sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code. He has now been released on bail, but Industrywalla tells us that Salman Khan actually made the effort to speak to Armaan and assure him that all would be okay. Here’s what we were told.

Industrywalla says: It seems that Salman is genuinely friendly with Armaan Kohli. I am told by a source in Lonavala that Salman spoke to Armaan as soon as he got news of his arrest and assured him to not get worked up. He asked him to follow the legal route, and told him that he should be back in the house soon. For weeks there has been talk of Salman’s affinity to Armaan – many people accused him of being unfair in this regard – and this development just confirms that Salman shares a friendship with him. Meanwhile, I am told that Tanisha was shocked and broke down in tears when the whole incident happened. However, I am not sure whehter we will be seeing this on our television screens or not. As far as I hear, the channel is still deciding whether to telecast the arrest or not, keeping in mind the legal implications that it could have.

The arrest was made after the police acquired CCTV footage from the house and were able to verify Sofia Hayat’s allegations. Armaan has now been released on bail, although it is unclear whether he will return to the show. While Salman has told Armaan that he should be back in the house soon, word has it that the channels are still taking a call on whether he should be allowed to enter the house again.
