For several days now, Twitter has been abuzz with people claiming that the ticket prices for Dhoom: 3 have been majorly hiked. The team, however, insists that the ticket prices will remain at par with other big banner films, like Chennai Express – anywhere between the range of ₹50 and ₹380, depending on the theatre and the show timing. The only exception will be in IMAX theatres, where the prices will range from ₹350 to ₹900, again depending on the show timing. However, it seems like Aamir Khan may be a tad suspicious about the rumours – from what he says, it sounds like he believes someone is up to some mischief.

“I’m surprised where this has come from. We have clarified it before but it keeps coming up. The source of this mischief is unknown to me,” the actor said when asked whether he believes someone may be intentionally spreading these rumours.

To set things straight, Aamir even issued a statement earlier today, claiming that there is no change to the ticket prices of Dhoom: 3:

“Dhoom 3 ticket prices are not expensive.  They are priced just like the other films that have released and in general ticket prices also differ as per the show timings.  It is also the first Hindi film to release in the IMAX format and there are a total of 4 such screens in India, two of which are in Bombay. Apart from those four screens, the tickets of Dhoom 3 are in the usual price range.”

Of course, watching it in IMAX would be something else, but ₹900? Yeah, I don’t know, man. What about you? Are you going to fork over a premium to catch it in IMAX, or are you content with watching it as any other film?
