Undoubtedly, out of all the Bollywood industry folk, Deepika Padukone was the one who had the best year – not only did all four of her films (Race 2, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Chennai Express and Ram Leela) do well at the office, but three of them entered the 100 crore club as well. To celebrate, the actress held a huge bash on Saturday night, with a black and gold theme. The who’s who of Bollywood showed up to congratulate her on her success, though as DPad said, the party was less for her and more for the people within the industry who made such a great year possible for her.
Ranveer Singh, of course, caught all the cameras’ attention once he showed up, rocking the black and gold theme to the max (make sure you check out the shoes). He was one of the few people who donned both black and gold, although a handful of other people didn’t bother with the theme at all. Like, you know, Abbas-Mustan, who showed up in their trusty white ensembles as always. 🙂
And yes, as you can see, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif stayed away from this party. It would have been nice for Ranbir to attend, especially since he was a part of her success – being her co-star in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and all that – but he probably thought it was best to stay away. Industrywalla told you the other day that although Ranbir and Deepika share a cordial relationship and can still be considered friends, they don’t really speak all that much when not required. That’s not to say that they weren’t invited, though – Industrywalla wrote in to tell us that DPad extended an invitation to both of them, although she knew that they would not attend the party since it would have been super awkward. While Deepika is on decent terms with Ranbir, she mostly maintains her distance when it comes to Katrina. We’re told that Ranbir even informed her in advance that they would not attend.
Meanwhile, Mirror‘s round-up of the party ends with a kicker of a blind item – “We caught an upcoming star who comes from a well-known film family and a sexy star wife known for her item numbers, exchange a lingering kiss, before she zoomed off to party at another night club and he went inside to discuss movies with his director friend.”
I think we can all figure out who those two are supposed to be, yes?
