Now here’s a sight you don’t get to see to often! We know that Anurag Kashyap got the opportunity to meet Martin Scorsese in Marrakech recently for the Marrakech Film Festival, but these photos have only now been released. While there, Anurag attended a special screening of The Wolf of Wall Street, which has been directed by Martin Scorsese, since he’s a huge fan of the director. He’s been bragging about it ever since, but he himself hosted a screening recently, where several Bollywood celebrities showed up to catch the film – including Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Anushka Sharma, Arjun Kapoor Imtiaz Ali and Ayan Mukerji.

Anurag Kashyap says:

“It was Martin Scorsese whose Taxi Driver inspired me. Since then, he has consistently inspired a generation of us. I saw The Wolf of Wall Street in Marrakech much before anyone, when he showed it to us – and it’s something I boasted about to my friends here.”

The Wolf of Wall Street has already released internationally, but the India release is scheduled for January 3rd. There are whispers that the film’s lead actor, Leonardo DiCaprio, is planning an India visit, although that has not been confirmed as of now.

Synopsis:

Revered filmmaker; Martin Scorsese directs the story of New York stockbroker Jordan Belfort (Leonardo DiCaprio). From the American dream to corporate greed, Belfort goes from penny stocks and righteousness to IPOs and a life of corruption in the late 80s. Excess success and affluence in his early twenties as founder of the brokerage firm Stratton Oakmont warranted Belfort the title – “The Wolf of Wall Street.”

Money. Power. Women. Drugs. Temptations were for the taking and the threat of authority was irrelevant. For Jordan and his wolf pack, modesty was quickly deemed overrated and more was never enough.
