Gucci is the go-to label from royalty to Hollywood and Bollywood celebrities. Now the Italian luxury label has launched their spring/summer 2014 children’s collection that just makes you wanna go aww. The inspiration behind the collection was the light-heartedness of the last few days of school (we all know how fun those days are!) and the forthcoming sea-side vacations.

Bright orange, bougainvillea, tropical turquoise and yellow compose the young ladies’ colour palette. The designs feature lurex fabrics for an elegant attitude, laminated leather for a reflective look, and precious embroideries for studded effects. The 70’s inspired paisley motif is placed against bright hues such as aquamarines. Other whimsical prints include beach parasols and cascading heartbeats. The mini Soho bag with the embossed interlocking GG emblem is this season’s irresistible accessory. Why should only Mommy get to carry on designer bags?

Your long lad is spoilt for choice – travel blazers, chino trousers, aviator bomber jackets and loose cargo pants. The colour palette revolves around classic tones of white, beige, navy blue and different shades of sky blue, combined with more quirky, vibrant hues, including ochre, bright orange, anthurium red and gentian blue, which saturate knitwear giving a bold, fresh look.

Boys too have a lot of prints – micro and macro paisley motifs, used on clothes or beachwear garments, alternate with a new theme inspired by Gucci’s equestrian heritage: the image of a stylized horse, designed to resemble skilful brush strokes, appears as embroidery on the nappa leather bomber or as a print on t-shirts. The iconic Gucci horsebit loafers are now also available for the little gentlemen.
