After the debacle that was Aiyya, Rani Mukerji is very adamant that her next film, Madaani, isn’t a misfire. However, sadly, the actress is unhappy with how this project is shaping up. The problem is that she isn’t satisfied with how her character has been written, which is a real issue considering that the story is supposed to be heavily character-based. Rani plays the role of a police officer, and has even met with the Joint Police Commissioner (Crime) as research for her role.

The film is being pegged as YRF’s boldest film as of date, and is therefore supposed to feature a strong female character. However, Rani has been telling YRF head honcho (and her beau) Aditya Chopra that she needs her character to be better written, considering that it’s the first film of hers to release in a while. I understand her insistence on getting it right, since the actress was really heartbroken after Aiyya failed. This time around, she doesn’t want to have a repeat of that disaster.
