Team MissMalini had earlier wondered what would happen with Shuddhi, since Karan Johar had gone on record to say that Hrithik Roshan‘s health issues pushed the project back and it was indefinitely delayed. Back then, they asked you whether Hrithik should be the one who opts out of the film, and it turns out that that is exactly what he did. Yesterday, the actor released a statement saying that he would no longer be doing Shuddhi, since he can’t allow the project to be delayed any further.
Hrithik Roshan says:
Karan Malhotra and I have decided to unite in the most ambitious way post Shuddhi. For now, I cannot allow a vision like Shuddhi to stagnate any further. I had the finest experience an actor can have working with Karan M in Agneepath, and I’m sure both my dear Karans are going to go beyond with this one! Shuddhi remains a part of me in spirit and I’m sure it will be a landmark in our cinema. I wish them all the best!
Now, I’ve heard that Hrithik told Kareena Kapoor Khan that he was opting out of Shuddhi before he conveyed the message to KJo. The actor didn’t want Kareena to give up on other films or to keep waiting just because of the fact that he would not be able to do the project. Even though the news of Kareena opting out came first, it was Hrithik who reached out to her privately and told her his decision before making it public knowledge. Buzz is that Bebo is quite dejected as she was looking forward to working with Duggu, who had been one of her favourite co-stars at one point. Also, it was the return of a great pairing, and Kareena was looking forward to being a part of something that could be such a good talking point for her career.
