Some time in the next several months, Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone will find themselves heading off for a European island, where they will be shooting portions of Window Seat, their upcoming film with Imtiaz Ali. The director confirmed this, saying that parts of the film would be based there, while the team will complete the rest of the shooting schedule within India itself. Yet again, it looks like travel will have an important part to play in an Imtiaz Ali film – he can’t seem to make a film without that being one of the main aspects of his story, and we sure aren’t complaining about it.

This is, of course, going to be a much-awaited film, mainly for the Ranbir/Deepika pairing. We don’t know too much about it yet, although Imtiaz did tell us that the film is about the “world of your imagination.” He also said, “It’s about stories, and story telling, and how you realise you’re part of the story of your life.”

In another conversation, Imtiaz also clarified that the point of Window Seat isn’t so much the romantic relationship between the lead pair, but rather their self-discovery – something which, you may agree, held true about his previous release (Highway) as well. Still, we expect the romance will play a big part – you can’t have Ranbir and Deepika and not have that chemistry shine – especially since Imtiaz admitted to us that, “It’s perhaps my incomprehension of the term love that keeps me drawing towards stories that are then later categorised as love stories.”

Window Seat is due for a mid-2015 release, and we’re definitely looking forward to it already. We’ll have to wait till they begin shooting for more information to be revealed about the project, but in the meantime read our earlier interview with Imtiaz for his thoughts on love, travel, and separation.
