After something of a slump in his career, Shahid Kapoor seems to be hitting back with some interesting projects. Not only does he have Vishal Bhardwaj‘s Haider coming out this year – featuring a very different look for him – but he has also been confirmed as the male lead for Vikas Bahl‘s Shaandar. Of course, all eyes have been on Vikas as of late since his most recent release, Queen, did well both commercially and critically. Now, if word is to be believed, then Shaandar will also be interesting for one more reason: Alia Bhatt seems to have joined the cast, meaning that we’ll get to see a Shahid/Alia pairing!
Considering that Shaandar is being pegged as Bollywood’s first film on a destination wedding, we can assume that there will be a strong romantic angle in the mix. However, not much is known about the film yet, so we’ll have to wait to hear more. According to the current buzz, they are expected to begin shooting for this film some time in the middle of this year.
Vikas and his team don’t seem to have issued any official confirmation of Alia’s role in this film yet, so we’ll keep an eye out for that – but in the meantime, tell us in the comments below whether you believe that Shahid and Alia would make a good romantic pair!
