Arjun Kapoor has just been announced as the national ambassador of Earth Hour, which will be observed on March 29th, Saturday, between 8:30pm and 9:30pm. As part of this initiative, citizens are asked to take the pledge to switch off all non-essential electricity in their home for that one hour period. This is to “take positive actions towards reducing your impact on the environment.”
At the event, the actor claimed that it’s a good thing to be a youth icon and influence people, and with something as important as Earth Hour he feels he can create an impression on people’s minds and bring about a change in the country. He also said that he’s really grateful for the opportunity, since these are the kinds of things he wants to do in life – and he’d be happy if someone gets influenced by a pledge he takes.
