One of the most awaited award shows, the 15th IIFA Awards, kicked off in Tampa Bay this year on April 23 and will continue for four days….

As always, the Indian Academy Awards are attended by who’s who of Bollywood, including Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, Madhuri Dixit Nene, Farhan Akhtar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Anil Kapoor!
Yesterday was the IIFA Magic of the Movies event (technical awards), and here are some of my favorite highlights!
Hosts for the night, Saif Ali Khan & Vir Das kept the audience entertained with their wit and humour and interacted with the stars.
Their best segment was definitely their presentation on how IIFA in 2050 would be: a 79 year old SRK playing yet another Rahul, Golmaal 30 releasing, and fashionista Sonam Kapoor wearing an ensemble from various designers!
Bipasha Basu sizzled on the stage with her dance numbers to Baby Doll (the audience went wild!), Tooh, and Lungi Dance! Kareena Kapoor Khan ended the show on a high, performing to Babuji Dheere Chalna and Yeh Mera Dil in a stunning emerald gown.
MissMalini‘s nephew spotted Kalki Koechlin looking sweet and fresh at Mumbai airport a few days ago and Tweeted this photo, how cute no? Check out her and other IIFA celebrity airport style here 🙂
Since Remo D’Souza wasn’t present to collect his award for Best Choreography, Kalki was called on stage to receive his award. I loved that on her way up to the stage, she took Deepika along with her, and the gorgeous gals demonstrated the Badtameez move for the entire audience!
Singer Pritam and gospel singers from Nashville, Tennessee, created one of the coolest collaborations I’ve ever seen! Combining Bollywood and barbershop styles together, the talented singers performed to songs such as Ilahi and Gandi Baat (slightly American-accented haha!) It was so cute to see Sonakshi Sinha and Deepika Padukone singing along and even dancing in their seats to the songs!
If there was thing that was clear, it would be that Hrithik was by the favorite heartthrob for this Florida audience. Whenever the camera cut to Duggu’s face, the audience let out howling roars! And I may or may not have been a part of the screaming fangirls ;). During Mika Singh‘s power packed performance, Hrithik went up on stage, sending the crowds in a tizzy. So I’m hoping to see more of Hrithik’s moves tonight.
