Mountain Brushtail Possum
Mountain Brushtail Possum

Of the many memories from our visit to Queensland, Australia, our day spent at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary definitely stands out. As animal lovers, it’s hard not to like a place that lets you cuddle koalas, feed kangaroos, and runs a wildlife hospital. About 30 mins outside of the Gold Coast, Currumbin prides itself in being “More Australian, More Natural, More Fun” than the average day spent at the zoo, and we have to agree! It doesn’t hurt that proceeds from the sanctuary, spread over 27 hectares of lush eucalyptus rainforest, go towards protecting and caring for animals. Here are some of our favourite critters from our day spent at CWS – a visit we can definitely recommend to any visitor in the area.

PS. Stay tuned to join our LIVE G+ hangout with some of the world’s BEST Travel Bloggers and find out who wins this cute koala!
