The countdown has begun – 1 week, 7 days, 168 hours (… I could go on) left until the last episode of the rollercoaster ride that has been season 4 of our favourite gory and sometimes disgusting show – Game of Thrones.

Episode 9 bored me a little. Yes, I feel butterflies in my stomach every time Jon Snow is on screen and when he’s on it for an entire 50 minutes, it feels like an entire jungle. But that was about it for me. There was too much unnecessary darkness, too many unwanted wildlings (except for Ygritte) and an overdose of fighting, swords and arrows. Since it was the second to last episode of the season, I honestly expected a major plot turn but I guess that’s how George R.R. Martin kept it fresh, he knew we were expecting something amazing (or typically brutal). So for once, this episode didn’t bring any tears (think Red Wedding and the beheading of Ned Stark), or any awe-struck moments (think Battle of Blackwater).

Since everything in this episode took place by the cold and frozen wall, we couldn’t see anything but coats, fur and over-flowing dark leather. So instead, I’ve given it a more Indian appeal. I spoke to three designers and asked them to pick one woman from Game of Thrones they would dress with pieces from their own collections.

Nikhil Thampi for Margaery

Nikhil Thampi didn’t need to think twice. He picked out a beautiful sheer ankle length jacket in a delicate pale pink with his signature rose gold flower embellishments covering the entire chest. He picked Margaerey Tyrell, explaining that with the sheer nature of the outfit and the metallic flowers, it signified beauty, which Margaery has, but with power, which is something she constantly strives for.

Mrinalini Chandra for Daenerys Targaryen

While our girl Khaleesi has been very busy ruling and not fighting right now, Mrinalini Chandra picked out a strong piece from her collection – it looks like decorative armour and screams, ‘Mother of Dragons!’

Nishka Lulla for Shae

Shae’s light and airy dresses were made that way by the costume designers of the show, so they looked easiest to take off, considering she was Sansa‘s chamber maid. Nishka Lulla’s easy separates would fit right into Shae’s closet – flowy, light, easy to wear and not to mention, effortlessly stunning!
