Doctor Closet couldn’t fight the itch to decode the story behind the styles worked by the fashion folks at #WoolmarkPrize dinner a couple of days ago. Doc picked a few guests from the evening to run his analysis and here’s what came out of it

That’s Lady Carol Gracias mister!

Carol Gracais knows good style. Most models know their way around trends and have developed an eye to put a good look together, but this India runway royalty works her personal style on her own terms. Her Lady Chic style for the evening in the 50s silhouette was the first note that she was feeling extremely feminine on that day. But Doctor Closet will point at the dainty kitten heels and the golden Pankaj & Nidhi spade pin to tell you that Carol took details into consideration while putting her look together. Tres tres chic!

I clean up good!

After his hard-work as a dancer in Jhalak, Purab Kohli made the most of his lean frame in his crisp electric blue suit. Doctor Closet sees that those dance routines paid off, eh Purab?!

True style comes From a space of comfort and eccentricity

Bless Shilpa Chavan for giving Doctor Closet something to cheer on. To others, the look may seem rather plain and boring. But what’s ‘plain and boring’ to some is fun and exciting to another lot. The best part? Shilpa doesn’t care. Her look says it all. The headgear (by her) is fun and adds that hint of drama, the dress has a vibe of vintage which is the element of history and the block heels seem comfortably chic.

I love leather jackets and I’m grounded

Rahul Mishra is the man who everybody wants to get a piece of (or from!). For those of you who are clueless about the power of the man, here’s what you need to know. This talented and endearingly down-to-earth designer made history by being the first Indian to win the International Woolmark prize. That being said, Rahul dressed relaxed. He loves his leather jackets and wears his long hair away from his face.

Gloom looks good on me

He is, undeniably, one of Bollywood most celebrated names in styling. Rocky Star enjoys dressing up. It seems like he looked at the deep grey hues from the monsoon and used it to build his look.

Who says that a girl can’t be powerful while being pretty?

Model Binal Trivedi worked a strong look in a noir jumpsuit. Though black is forgiving, a black tailored jumpsuit is daring. Binal rocked her look with ease. She seemed so much in control of its simple chic look that she took the minimal style route and went without any statement accessorizes (except the rock on her finger) and pink lips. Bravo Binal!
