The trailer launch for Khoobsurat, starring Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan, happened today at Juhu PVR, and here are 6 super fun and interesting moments that took place!
1. Sonam is like Dr. Milli in real life
Sonam explained that this character is the closest role to her true personality she’s ever played in a movie. She laughingly said, “They have shamelessly and exposed me completely in this film!” She added that while shooting certain scenes she thought, “Yeh toh mere life mein pehle hua tha.”
2. Fawad is a true gentleman
Seen previously in the very popular Pakistani show, Zindagi Gulzar Hai, the regal Fawad Khan suits the role of a prince perfectly! Speaking in eloquent Hindi/Urdu, Fawad answered each and every question from the media with élan and poise. He revealed that he considers himself to be a social recluse, but Sonam was “very accommodating, warm, welcoming, and extremely supportive.” Rhea Kapoor also mentioned that Fawad is “a brilliant actor, effortless, and so dedicated to his work.” Are you looking forward to Fawad’s entry into Bollywood?
3. Sonam has no filter
When asked whether she’s prim and proper in real life as she makes it appear with her fab fashion spottings, the fashionista responded, “What you see in the media is completely different from what you would know of me. I have no filter, behave like whatever, and fall everywhere. But I try very hard to be prim and proper.” We’ve definitely seen the outspoken side of Sonam on Koffee with Karan episodes! 😉
4. Sonam doesn’t have any plans of singing
Sonam revealed that she has absolutely no plans of following in the likes of Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, or Shraddha Kapoor by singing in this film or in the future as a matter of fact. She said, “It’s a really bad idea. I’m not even a bathroom singer!” However at the media’s request, Fawad sang one line of the title track of Zindagi Gulzar Hai!
5. Rekha will be one of the first to see the film
This upcoming movie is a spin on the 1980 film, Khubsoorat, starring Rekha and Rakesh Roshan. Producer Rhea Kapoor stated, “Rekhaji will be one of the first people to see it, and we would want to show her the film in its entirety.” On playing Rekha’s role in the remake of the movie, Sonam further added, “I don’t think I can do justice to anything Rekha has done.”
6. Sonam couldn’t find her matching earring
When the Bollywood actress was asked why she donned two different earrings at the event, Sonam explained, “Ek earring tha aur doosra nahi mil raha tha, toh dusri earring pehnli.” LOL. Since she is the royal misfit in the movie, I think this jewelry malfunction was on purpose. What say stylist of the movie, Karuna Laungani?
