I must confess that I have been buried neck deep in gorgeous dresses and look sheets for MissMalini. As personal stylist to our Blogger-In-Chief, my job is to play dress up with her and give you guys fun ways to get more out of dressing for the occasion. Here’s how I plan the looks for #MMFridays at Shree Raj Mahal presents India Couture Week 2014 held at the Taj Palace Hotel in Delhi!

In AM:PM by ankur and priyanka modi skirt and a crisp white shirt from Marks & Spencer

As always, my priority and perspective on style was set around the marriage of simplicity and style with comfort. I met up with Priyanka Modi of the design duo, AM:PM who took me through their entire collection at their store at Palladium Mall. when I saw this skirt. It instantly reminded me of Carrie Bradshaw‘s full fluffy skirt that she wore in Sex And The City 2 with her J’dore Dior tee. I built the look around the skirt and kept it a bit formal for ICW. Taking inspiration from Carolina Herrera‘s power lady in a shirt and Sharon Stone‘s high street mixed with designer look, I teamed the AM:PM skirt with a white shirt from Marks & Spencer.

For the accessories, we went with an assortment of 3 different steel chain link neck pieces and silver bangles. A pair of peep-toe high heel by Heel & Buckle gave the look the length it needed.

For hair and make-up, the fab team at Rod Anker’s Monsoon Salon & Spa worked their magic. They gave MissMalini a day chic look with a hint of green for the eyes and pastel muted lips. Her hair was tonged to achieve those girly curls.

In Gaurav Gupta

Since we were scheduled to have Gaurav Gupta on #MMFridays at ICW, I thought of dressing MissMalini in one of his dresses. I picked this colour because of the jolt of purple with the pink lining. Letting the bright colour do its magic, MissMalini wore her big gold Aztec earrings, her rose gold GC watch and that’s it. Sometimes a solid splash of colour and a statement accessories is all you need.

For hair, the stylist from Monsoon Salon worked the tongs so that the hair would gorgeously last through the day. The defined, tonged hair was complimented with sharp kohl eyes and light pink stained au natural lips; all courtesy of the skilled hands at MAC cosmetics.

In Malini Ramani

How does a free spirited girl get her gypsy vibe on? In a Malini Ramani dress, of course! Between shows and G+ Hangouts with #MMFrIdays, things can get pretty hectic. So MissMalini and I always try to have some fun with the styling! To change things up we went with this gorgeous white dress by Malini Ramani with a sexy twist on a bindi motifs.

Once again, Malini’s hair was beautiful cared for by Rod Anker’s team at the Monsoon Salon and the make-up professionals at MAC made sure MissMalini’s look got the freshness to match the outfit. We styled the look with a statement ring, bronze drop earrings and sexy strappy pair of pale gold heels.

In Rajat Tangri

For the hangouts on the last day, we carried this olive dress with crystal embellishments by Rajat Tangri. I don’t usually ‘do’ bling dresses for MissMalini (or otherwise), but ICW seemed like the right setting for the dress. And the bling element in it wasn’t over the top.

Since the dress has a lot going on with the shiny stones and the crushed pleats, The stylist from the Monsoon Salon tonged MissMalini’s tresses in loose ringlets and the hands at MAC designed the make-up with a hint of sparkle. A couple of silver bangles, a rose gold watch and a pair of rose nude peep toe heels fromed the complete look.

Since MissMalini’s days at fashion weeks like this are stocked with fashion shows, hangouts and non-stop blogging, I try to ensure that the looks are fun and comfortable for her to enjoy them through the busy schedule. It’s a great tip for you too. Keep your look simple but work with element you love and make the most of it.

I hope you enjoyed this behind the style post as much as I had a blast playing with these gorgeous designer dresses. And now that you know the looks, the talents at Rod Anker’s Monsoon Salon and MAC in Delhi must be on your list to try out their beauty tricks.
