After a super successful debut in Gangs of Wasseypur, the actor has been much talked about in all her films, with her performances being appreciated by critics and the audience. What more could an actor want, right? She then graced the cover of Femina, a leading magazine, where she was applauded for taking a stand on her body and not adhering to industry standards of perfection! News has it that she will be seen romancing Bollywood heartthrob, John Abraham in Sanjay Gupta’s ambitious next, titled Mumbai Saga.
Mumbai Saga, which is set in the 80’s, is a film that revolves around the deep-rooted web of the underworld, politicians, police and mill owners. Slumdog Millionaire actor, Anil Kapoor, will be seen playing a politician. According to rumours, his role is loosely based on Maharashtra’s political figure, the Late Bal Thackeray. While Huma plays John’s love interest in the film, he will play an underworld don, after Shootout at Wadala. Actor Manoj Bajpayee will also be seen in a prominent role.
No points for guessing here – John Abraham seems to be Sanjay Gupta’s favourite! Why else would this director-actor duo do five films together? That’s not all! John will also be seen opposite Aishwarya Rai in Sanjay’s upcoming film, Jazba.
Mumbai Saga is slated to go on floors later this year. With such a talented star cast, one can only hope that the film delivers on screen. Given Huma’s luck and Sanjay’s skills, it just might be bigger than last!
