Amidst grey skies and gloomy clouds, we all need something to brighten up our day. What better way than a bold pink lip? Our POTD (product of the day, for the uninformed) is FACES Ultime Pro Longwear Matte Lipstick in ‘Read My Lips’. Enriched with Vitamin E and anti-aging oxidants, the product promises us vivid colour and waterproof coverage, with a lasting power of over 8 hours.
On the packaging front, FACES has done a great job. A matte black, plastic tube contains 2.5g of product, in a twist-up format. The shade colour is mentioned on a coloured sticker at the bottom of the tube, the colour corresponding to the lipstick shade. Creamy is the one word we would use while describing the texture of this lipstick. A single swipe leaves behind a highly pigmented pink shade, which applies on evenly and smoothly. The creaminess is a major plus in our books, as our lips don’t feel dry or flaky even after prolonged hours of usage.
As far as the lasting power goes, the claim of over 8 hours does not hold true. However, the product did last for 5-6 hours without any reapplication, which is pretty impressive! Even more impressive, that on repeated sips of water (a girl has got to stay hydrated!) only a marginal amount of product transferred onto our glass.
All in all, this lipstick gets our seal of approval. Splurge a bit of that paycheck (Rs. 599, to be precise) and wow the world with a bright, pink pout that can survive the stormiest of days!
