Broken Make Up
Broken Make Up

How many of you have had that compact or eye shadow set that’s brand new and expensive… but then you suddenly drop it! Almost heart breaking, isn’t it? Don’t you worry, ladies! Your make up can be salvaged. I know you’re curious already! Here’s how you can fix broken make up and even shatterproof it for the next time!

So, here goes! Take the broken compact (or any other powder based makeup you may have broken) and cover it with some cling film. Once this is done, take a spoon and get the powder into smaller chunks by breaking it up.  Breaking it will help the make up reset itself once the alcohol is added.

You then add 70 percent rubbing alcohol. Fyi – in no way does the alcohol affect the colour of the makeup; it will only set it into shape. You want the powder to be completely saturated with the alcohol giving it almost a clay like consistency. You can use the spoon to help mix up the alcohol with the powder. Make it a paste so you can easily smooth it out.

Once it looks like a paste, grab a piece of cloth such as an old T-shirt but make sure it’s clean! Also, take a coin or anything that’s small, flat and circular. Wrap the cloth around the coin so it gives you a flat side, almost like a little press! Now, take the coin and press the makeup to even out the level.

Once this is done, let it dry and…. Voila! a couple of minutes later, your makeup is as good as new!

And it's fixed!
And it’s fixed!

An extra tip to prevent your makeup from breaking – If you’re travelling or on the go, just take a cotton ball and put it between the powder and the lid of the container. What this does is if your powder accidentally falls, it will prevent it from breaking by giving the powder extra cushioning.

Fixing your makeup takes a few trials but once you get the hang of it, it hardly takes any time! And, it also saves you a lot of money! Try this and let us know how it worked for you.
