Fashion month is upon us and it’s hitting us in full force. After India Couture Week came Bangalore Fashion Week And India Bridal Fashion Week – next in line is Lakme Fashion Week! Yes, it might sound super hectic (honestly, it is!) but at MissMalini, we absolutely LOVE being surrounded by all the clothes, creativity and jewellery. We really don’t mind it if we eat, sleep, breathe fashion; and right now, it’s coming out of our ears! – just how we like it. So while we’re keeping our eyes open and trying to keep a tab on everything going on, we came across 10 beautiful creations by the designers at India Bridal Fashion Week. These designs take care of everything ‘wedding’ and that’s why we love them. Between the styling, accessories, models, some celebrities and the designs, these are the 10 pieces that made it to our wish list. Take a look.

1. Suneet Varma

The fashion rebel in me would love to turn up at a wedding (maybe be the bride at my own) wearing that head piece. Apart from that, the classic silhouette by Suneet Varma was heightened with the addition of the layering created at the bottom.

2. Raghavendra Rathore

Move away from the classic wedding shades like those pinks and reds. The new colour is blue and Raghavendra Rathore shows you how to wear it, yes, to a wedding.

3. Ashima Leena

It’s that time when people don’t want to stick to the norm. Just a choli, ghaghra and duppata won’t do. Brides today want more and Ashima Leena have given them just that in the form of a short sheer jacket over their choli.

4. Azva

What’s a wedding without that glorious choker? Moving away from the bright gold and keeping it rustic with a hint of rusted gold, Azva hit the nail on the head with their jewellery and Nargis Fakhri turned out to be the perfect canvas.

5. Falguni & Shane Peacock

Falguni & Shane Peacock might make it to this list twice. Once you look at their creations, it might become crystal clear in your mind – a blouse isn’t always a necessity, the urban girl in you wears a blazer and she’ll wear it to her wedding if she wants to as well.

6. Gauri & Nainika

It’s your wedding, if you’re lucky, you’ll only have one; so make a statement! You don’t have to go traditional for every function; cocktails can see a gown and Gauri & Nainika have you covered. With the exaggerated ruffles and vibrant shades, all eyes will be on you, as they should be.

7. JJ Valaya

Speaking of gowns. If you’re hell bent on keeping up with the tradition, take a look at JJ Valaya. Embroidered gowns with some shimmer that are fuss-free, have the same functionality as a gown and still stay traditional through it all.

8. Tarun Tahiliani

Another designer that might make it to the list twice is Tarun Tahiliani. With pre-stitched dhoti pants and an embellished belt to top off the look, the men can add to their otherwise more staple ensembles.

9. Falguni & Shane Peacock

After the blazer comes a more slouchy look. No, the added slouchy-ness doesn’t make it look frumpy or casual in any way. It comes in the form of a sheer, embroidered top that goes on the same lines as a sweatshirt, complete with a frontal pocket. Don’t let go of the androgynous dresser within just because you’re at a wedding, you can safely keep it with you at all times.

10. Tarun Tahiliani

My favourite of the lot, this Tarun Tahiliani design has everything I look for in an Indian outfit. Fuss-free, it lets you show some leg plus the entire look gets more stylish with the addition of an embroidered waistcoat. With a deep neck and sleeveless, the look is easy to carry and lets you breathe without worrying.
